The plate helper renders all inks of a page with one render cache, as a separating caller does, so ICC transforms are built once per page instead of once per plate. The mutated profile test changes the header fields a reader checks instead of every 16th header byte, and samples the tag data more sparsely: each profile that still loads costs a fifth of a second in a debug build.
